Dark Horse Studio
Ideas are the fuel for Dark Horse Studio. The exploration and nurturing of the creative process is the aim within a supportive atmosphere where the artist is encouraged to take the lead in this journey. In a quiet neighborhood Northeast of Downtown, a sound-isolated space is the setting for Dark Horse Studio.Dark Horse Studio is owned and operated by singer/songwriter and jd8 Records artist (www.jd8records.com) Kiyoshi Graves. "Going through the process of recording my album, Chase, I realized the importance of exploring the artist's full creative possibilities, through the use of modern equipment and recording gear." "I also came to believe that recording should be a vital part of the creative process, not merely the final documenting of predetermined ideas. Artists should be recording constantly as the recording process feeds the creative process and vice versa, in a cyclical nature. If an artist can embrace the recording process, and invest themselves in the full amount of performance possibilities they are capable of, tremendous growth can be realized."
"There are demos and there are recordings, and artists should be careful about investing too much in demos, and not enough in recordings. There are few mid-range studios, bridging the gap between fully-equipped professional studios, and home "bedroom" studios. Dark Horse Studio seeks to bridge that gap, bringing high quality recording facilities within the reach of emerging artists."Billing is available in hour, day and multi-day increments. Dark Horse Studio also offers mobile recording, including that of live events. Voiceover recording is available for those in film, TV and theater.
